Job description

We are hiring senior Java Software Engineers to write server-side code for our network that offers services to millions of users. You will be required to add network features and improve server/network scaling in a way that maintains 2go's very high standards of efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 2go's core service infrastructure.
  • Analyse and improve the efficiency, stability and scalability of applications.
  • Ensure critical high uptime requirements for application servers.

    • Required qualities

    You should be meticulous and show good attention to detail. Solid troubleshooting skills are an important requirement. You should be a well-rounded developer that has experience in creating robust, high-volume production applications, with the ability to develop prototypes quickly. You should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of, and practical experience with, server-side Java application development.

    Qualification and experience

  • Minimum of a Matric certificate.
  • Additional degrees/IT qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
  • Linux/Unix competence.
  • Understanding of networks and TCP/IP.
  • Extensive understanding and experience with Java's concurrency libraries and troubleshooting tools.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages will be an advantage.
  • It would be an advantage if the candidate has an understanding of the 2go application.
